A fixed EQ cuts all the time. Most problems do not happen all the time.
It moves only when needed
A dynamic band stays flat until the frequency goes over the threshold, then cuts or boosts only as much as needed. The mud, the harsh note, the boomy word: handled when they show up.
Make room with the side-chain
Let a band on the guitar listen to the lead vocal: the guitar steps back at 3 kHz only while the singer sings, and comes back between phrases.
Touch it during the show
Every control glides. Switching a band, its shape, its slope or the phase mode never clicks: we tested 74 abrupt changes, all silent.
What it does
Static, dynamic or spectral
Bell, shelves, tilt, notch, band pass and cuts from 6 to 96 dB/oct. Turn on DYNAMIC to set threshold (or AUTO), range, attack, release and knee, above or below.
Spectral mode
Inside the band, only the frequencies that stick out are cut, in narrow slices. Resonances go, the tone stays.
Zero Latency or Linear Phase
Zero Latency for live. Linear Phase changes only the level of each frequency, never its timing, with Low, Medium, High or Maximum resolution; the latency is reported to the host.
Side-chain per band
Each dynamic band listens to its own signal or to the external key. Pick the key channel in your host: the side-chain menu in Logic, pins in REAPER, KEY in Live Rack.
Stereo, left, right, mid, side
Every band works on both channels, one side, the center or the sides, in both phase modes.
See what you hear
Spectrum before and after the EQ, the key in purple, and the live action of each dynamic band on the curve. Gain Scale, Auto Gain, polarity and a click-free bypass.
Built for the pressure of a show
Made for the stage
Zero Latency mode adds 0 samples. Use it on every channel without thinking about delay.
Light on the CPU
24 dynamic bands in stereo use about 3 to 6 % of one core of an Apple Silicon Mac.
